A conteporary cabin
These last few weeks I have been working on a preliminary design for a chalet to be realized in a mountain resort near Rome for a young couple.
This work has led  to focus myself particularly on the photos of houses in the mountains; I like in particular those in which the landscape is the protagonist and the contemporary taste blends with the atmosphere of a cabin.
The house that I show is of  Hege Barnholt and her husband Bjorn Johan Stenersen  and is located in Hemsedal in Norway. They took care of the design.
The taste is typically Scandinavian (but now we are used to seeing houses "Nordic style"  all over the world). Neutral colors and natural materials are not opposed, but they agree with the surrounding landscape, often snowy.
Kitchen, living and dining room are concentrated in a single large space that Hege and Bjorn define "live room". The house has 11 beds, 6 of which, like bunks, made in the attic.
Floors and walls are everywhere covered with pine bleached, creating an atmosphere at once warm and bright and it is perfectly match the furnishings, distinguished by some design pieces mostly Danes.
An atmosphere so should appeal to a young couple. What do you think?
