"Scegliete forma, dimensione e tessuto e noi realizzeremo i vostri sogni" promettono i fratelli Hourani.

Craftsmen of dreams
"Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed"; Antoine Lavoisier's maxim is the basis of inspiration of Boboboom.
Mitri and Mireille Hourani, brother and sister Franco-Lebanese born in Africa, he is designer, she is expert in economics. They create objects with the belief that to save the planet,  we should not discard but reuse.
They create unique and original products using found objects and reinvented with creativity.
Look for example their collection of lamps made with bottles and glass vessels and electric cables colored.
And how not to fall in love with their lampshades with retro shape but reinterpreted in a modern key, used individually or in spectacular clusters ?
Mitri plays them in multiple tissues, from lace, to floral prints at up to those Scots.
"You choose the shape, size and fabric and we will make your dreams come true"  Hourani brothers promise.
And their dream Mitri and Mireille have definitely realized. Will they realize yours?

Second life

Quindi mi sono messa all'opera.

One of things that give me greater satisfaction is to give a second chance to the objects, in practice a second life, customizing and adapting them to new aesthetic and functional needs.
Among the items that I "turned" I show you this old solid wood dresser  that my family has inherited a few decades ago by the previous owner of the beach house of my parents.
And there it stayed until a few months ago, when I decided that it coulds feel good in my house.
I liked its rounded shape , even the handles, the larges drawers would have been useful to me  but the color of wood  finish was  ill-suited to my house.
So I started work.
First I brought it  in a specialized laboratory for a anti worm in the microwave, non-toxic ,because  it is made without chemicals.
So I bought a water-based wood pulp to seal the holes left by unpleasant insects and I closed  a lot of them  (all would have been impossible) making it penetrate with the help of a small spatula.
The most difficult phase was carefully scrape with sandpaper whole cabinet to remove the varnish with which he was treated and restore the natural wood. At that point I could not have second thoughts.
But finally, here's the fun part of the job: paint the dresser.
I chose the paint opaque and  of the   "Les Decoratives"  series "Tendence cuisine" that should be applied in two coats.
The first layer, "Base" (I chose the color gray Taupe) must be applied with a brush evenly and allowed to dry for about four hours.
The second layer, (in my case soft gray color) is applied and after about ten minutes  by rubbing with a damp sponge should be removed where you intend to bring out the underlying color darker.
Finally, when everything was completely dry, I spent with a soft cloth a transparent paste of wax for furniture  that has given him an almost velvety look.
I must say that fits in well with the gray wall, and the result has pleased me so much that ... follow me and discover what else I did.
