Passato e presente a Marsiglia

Lui, Jean-Baptiste Moutte, appassionato di rock e di oggetti del dopoguerra, restaura amorevolmente

mobili originali dell'epoca, nel suo laboratorio non lontano dal porto vecchio di Marsiglia.

Lei, Virginie, nel suo show-room Relax Factory di Brulxelles, allestito come un appartamento, li mette in mostra ad arte e li vende.

A Marsiglia la coppia vive nel loro appartamento ristrutturato nel 1952, e da allora lasciato inalterato.

Tutti i mobili sono stati scelti accuratamente durante i loro viaggi intrapresi alla ricerca di pezzi rari per soddisfare le richieste dei loro clienti. Jean-Baptiste li ha riportati  a nuova vita con maestria, verniciando, inchiodando, sostituendo imbottiture e tappezzerie, sfruttando insomma tutto il suo know-how.

Tutto persino la cucina è originale dell'epoca. Eppure l'insieme è attuale: passato e presente convergono fino a sovrapporsi.

Tocchi di verde, giallo e azzurro alle pareti riprendono i colori della collezione di ceramiche di Roger Capron esposta in soggiorno, e  rallegrano l'appartamento, soddisfacendo il desiderio  della coppia di sentirsi sempre un po' in vacanza quando sono a Marsiglia. E la luce del Mediterraneo fa la sua parte.

Past and present in Marseille

He, Jean-Baptiste Moutte, fan of rock and of post-war objects,lovingly restores

original period furniture, in his laboratory not far from the old port of Marseille.

She, Virginie, in his showroom Relax Brulxelles Factory, equiped like an apartment, artfully exposes and sells them.

In Marseilles, the couple live in their apartment renovated in 1952, and since then left unchanged.

All the furniture has been carefully chosen during their journeys undertaken in search of rare items to meet the demands of their customers. Jean-Baptiste brought them  to second life with great skill, painting, nailing, replacing padding and upholstery, using short, all its know-how.

Everything even the kitchen is original. Yet the apartment is current: past and present converge to overlap.

Touches of green, yellow and blue on the walls reflect the colors of the collection of ceramics by Roger Capron exposed in the living room, and brighten up the apartment, satisfying the desire of the couple to feel always on holiday  when they are  in Marseille. And the light of the Mediterranean does its part.
