Un castello per casa

Vivere in un castello. Tutti vorremmo, ed è quello che hanno avuto il privilegio ed il coraggio di fare Trude e Peter, ristrutturando uno dei moltissimi castelli diffusi nella campagna francese, per l'esattezza lungo il fiume Erdre appena fuori Nantes.

Costruito da una famiglia di armatori intorno al 1750 (il suo proprietario sembra che durante la Rivoluzione Francese sia stato decapitato),  è stato per un certo periodo un bed and breakfast infine è stato scelto come dimora da questa coppia in cerca di pareti in cui si sentisse "il respiro della storia".

Pur conservando la maggior parte dei pavimenti originali ed il camino Luigi XV nella sala da pranzo, hanno deciso di farne una casa che avesse tutti i confort moderni cosa  evidente nella cucina, scelta dalla padrona di casa  volontariamente in stile "industriale", in netto contrasto con l'ambiente circostante, e ordinata su catalogo in Danimarca.  

Stessa scelta per la sala da pranzo arredata con  il  semplice tavolo  in legno e  le sedute firmate Philippe Starck di  Driade. Elementi vecchi e nuovi mescolati con ironia e nonchalance.

Una tavolozza di colori polverosi  (grigi ed azzurri tenui, declinati in tutte le sfumature)  crea un'atmosfera calma, come sospesa nel tempo. 

Unica eccezione il bagno in cui è stata scelta una tonalità più viva  per dare energia al risveglio della mattina; un turchese vivo per pareti, cornici e addirittura per la vasca,  questa sì scelta  in uno stile... adatto ad un castello non vi sembra?  

 
For house ... a castel

Living in a castle. All we would like, and that is what they have had the privilege and the courage to do Trude and Peter, renovating one of the many castles spread in the French countryside, exactly along the river Erdre just outside Nantes.

Built by a family of shipowners in the 1750s (his owner seems that during the French Revolution was beheaded, was for a time a bed and breakfast and  finally chosen as the home for this couple in search of walls in which felt " the breath of history ."

While retaining most of the original floors and the Louis XV fireplace in the dining room, they decided to make a home that had all the modern comforts obvious thing in the kitchen, chosen by the owner voluntarily style "industrial", in sharp contrast with the surrounding environment, and ordered by catalog in Denmark.

Same choice for the dining room furnished with  a simple wooden table and chairs designed by Philippe Starck for Driade. Old and new elements mixed with irony and nonchalance.

A palette of dusty colors (grays and soft blue, declined in all shades) creates a calm atmosphere, as if suspended in time.

The only exception is the bathroom which was chosen to give a more vivid hue energy when you wake up in the morning; turquoise for  walls, frames and even for tub,  this  is suitable in a castle, isn't it?
