"Quello che amo di più della mia casa è che è piena di ricordi di posti in cui sono stata, ma ancora di più di ciò che mi tiene legata a San Francisco". Questo è quello che pensa Leslie Santarina, editor di Spotted SF, del suo appartamento in un edificio vittoriano costruito nel 1892 nella zona di Pacific Heights.
Sul suo blog raccoglie fotografie e notizie di architetture, bar, ristoranti, negozi ed eventi della Bay Area; nella sua casa colleziona oggetti di ceramica ricordo dei suoi viaggi e opere di fotografi locali.
Ma sapete di cosa è particolarmente orgogliosa Leslie? Dell'equilibrio cromatico raggiunto nel suo piccolo appartamento, il giusto compromesso tra la freddezza del tutto bianco e un eccesso di colore che sarebbe stato troppo ingombrante.
Tinte neutre (bianco, grigio, beige), delicatamente ravvivate dal verde delle piante che crescono rigogliose grazie alla luce che penetra abbondante dalle finestre, formano la palette che Leslie ha scelto per ottenerlo.
E l'obiettivo equilibrio a me sembra raggiunto. E voi che ne pensate?
Matter of balance
"What I love most of my home is it's filled with memories of places I've been, but more with what keeps me tied to San Francisco". This is what Leslie Santarina, editor of Spotted SF, thinks about his apartment in a Victorian building, built in 1892, in the Pacific Heights area.
On her blog she collects photographs and news of architecture, bars, restaurants, shops and events in the Bay Area; in her house collects object in ceramic, memorabilia of his travels, and works by local photographers.
But do you know what Leslie is particularly proud of? Of the chromatic balance that she reached into her apartment, the right compromise between the coldness of total white and an excess of color that would have been too cumbersome in a small apartment.
Neutral colors (white, gray, beige), delicately enlivened by green plants flourishing thanks to abundant light entering through the windows, forms the palette that Leslie has chosen to create it.
And the goal of balance is reached, isn'it?
