La Sicilia che non ti aspetti: le Saline di Trapani e Paceco

La Sicilia non finisce mai di sorprendere.

Quando pensi di averne colto tutti i tratti salienti accade di scoprire che esiste un aspetto di questo territorio che ancora non conoscevi.

Questo è quello che ho pensato appena mi sono trovata di fronte il paesaggio della Riserva Naturale delle saline di Trapani e Paceco

Le saline, che si estendono lungo la costa per oltre mille ettari, con i suoi mulini a vento e la scacchiera formata dalle vasche di raccolta del sale, rappresenta un esempio di come le attività umane possano convivere armoniosamente con il paesaggio naturale, trasformandolo eppure rispettandolo e contribuendo a creare un habitat adatto a tante specie animali.

Da lì ci si può imbarcare per raggiungere, attraverso lo Stagnone, l'isola di Mozia, antica colonia fenicia, dove un nobile inglese, Giuseppe Whitaker, alla fine dell'800 ha costruito la sua casa, oggi trasformata in museo.

Passeggiando per l'isola lasciatevi rapire dal profumo della storia e della macchia mediterranea.

Tornati sulla terraferma allontanatevi dalla costa ed ammirate il tramonto sulla laguna.

Anche questa è Sicilia.

Sicily never ceases to surprise.

When you think you've caught all the salient characters, happens to discover that there is an aspect of this area that still you didn't know.

This is what I thought as soon as I found myself in front of the landscape of the Natural Reserve of salt pans of Trapani and Paceco

The salt marshes that extend along the coast for more than a thousand hectares, with its windmills and the chessboard formed by the collection tanks of salt, is an example of how human activities can coexist harmoniously with the natural landscape, transforming it , respecting it and yet helping to create a suitable habitat to many animal species.

From there you can sail to reach, through the Stagnone, the island of Mozia, an ancient Phoenician colony, where an English nobleman, Giuseppe Whitaker, at the end of 800, he had built his house, now a museum.

Walking around the island let yourself be enraptured by the scent of history and the Mediterranean.

Back on the mainland you have to move away from the coast and watch the sunset over the lagoon.

Sicily is even this.

Intrecci per tutte le stagioni

Rattan, giunco, vimini, bambù creano intrecci dal sapore estivo per arredi outdoor.

Se entrano in casa, al mare od in città, donano un tocco fresco e delicato agli ambienti.

E quando arriva il freddo basta "vestirli" in maniera adatta; un plaid o un tappeto di ecopelliccia sono sufficienti... e l'inverno diventa subito caldo.

Pavimenti decorati, l'effimero diventa definitivo

I Kolam sono disegni geometrici o a soggetto floreale realizzati davanti agli ingressi delle case dalle donne del Tamil Nadu, regione del sud dell'India, con l'aiuto delle loro figlie.

Questa tradizione viene trasmessa di generazione in generazione ed ha un significato molto preciso: i Kolam vengono realizzati ogni mattina cospargendo il suolo con farina di riso -ogni famiglia ha il suo stile- con lo scopo di apportare prosperità e protezione alla casa e di augurare il benvenuto al visitatore.

I disegni durante la giornata, pian piano, vengono cancellati dal passaggio delle persone, ma il giorno dopo le donne, instancabilmente, ne realizzano di nuovi.
La ripetizione dei gesti rende così definitivo, anche se sempre diverso, ciò che nasce come temporaneo.

A queste effimere opere d'arte potreste ispirarvi se non vi piace il pavimento della vostra casa, e avete deciso di rinnovarlo senza sostituirlo, che sia in legno, in cemento o in materiale ceramico.
Potreste dare un tocco gioioso e ad effetto, ad esempio, all'ingresso o al corridoio della vostra abitazione

Ma se prediligete uno stile più lineare, lasciatevi invece ispirare da un classico pavimento a scacchi bicolore o ad esagoni, oppure, utilizzando tre colori, create un bell'effetto tridimensionale.

Utilizzando tinte pastello potreste anche ricreare suggestioni scandinave.

Basta un po' di manualità ed i colori adatti alla superficie da decorare.

E come al solito il mio suggerimento è: ad ognuno il proprio stile, unico ed originale.

But if prediligete a more linear style let yourself be inspired by a classic two-tone checkerboard floor or by hexagons. Using three colors, you can create a beautiful 3D effect.

With pastel colors you could also recreate suggestions Scandinavian.

Just a bit of dexterity and suitable colors to the surface to be decorated.

And as usual, my suggestion is: to each his own style, unique and original.
