The flag in the living
The Hamptons, about 130 miles from New York City, are the holiday destination chosen from Upper class New York and by artists and famous actors.
Thanks to the white sand beaches, the waves of the Ocean, the vegetation moved by the breeze, and especially thanks to the beautiful villas, many filmmakers have chosen them as the location for their films.
This villa signed by Robert Stilin, interior design, which is divided between New York and the Hamptons, it looks like a movie set where everything is studied in detail to give a feeling of relaxed and casual elegance, mixing colors, fabrics and natural materials in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature that envelops and almost seems to enter the house through the large windows.
Photographs on the walls contrast with the furniture by modernist lines and refer you to other places, while a large flag in the living seems to reaffirm pride "we are in the Usa."

Solo bianco...anzi no.

Ora ho cambiato idea.

Only withe...or not
Questioning our beliefs, changing idea, it is an exercise that, in my opinion, can lead to overcome their limits, to advance into unexplored fields and get sometimes unexpected results.
It can be a gradual process or a sudden turn, like the result of a real stroke of lightning, but in any case an essential element in the creative process.
For a long time I had the conviction that the walls and specially the ceilings in a house should be almost exclusively white or painted in more delicate colors, to make the rooms very bright and pleasant living.
Now I have changed my mind.

Nostalgia di New York

Nostalgia of New York
They are really too many years that I miss from New York so I proposed myself to go back there soon.
For the moment I'm  just looking for accomodation ideal, so I found the Wythe Hotel
It comes from the recovery of a textile factory, built in 1901 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The MA studio(founded by Morris Adjimi after a long collaboration with Aldo Rossi) has allowed the realization of the rooms, a restaurant, a 3000sqm area for events and a rooftop bar, keeping the industrial look of the original building.
Brickwork, large windows, wooden ceilings, concrete floors, steel columns, even a rusty conveyor belt, all typical elements of industrial architecture are softened by  decor elements how beautiful wallpaper of Flavor Paper or vintage furnishings and  details.
Most rooms have breathtaking views of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline, and then ... who could ask for more?

Primavera tutto l'anno a Montmartre

Spring all year in Montmartre
Looking at the pictures of this apartment in Montmartre, I thought:
"Here's a house where you can feel spring in the whole year."
Anne, blogger and chief editor of Hello Coton, achieved this by choosing the absolute white  for walls and floors, so pervading the whole house of a brightness comparable to that of the air of a  spring day.
The only exceptions are the   wall painting of  the entrance hall  in which she opted for a fresh color "blue glacier" and an insert of black and white tiles, chosen to give a retro touch to the bathroom floor, built-in bedroom.
Eliminating some unnecessary partitions  she created that feeling of freedom of movement and open space that you have doing a walk  after a winter spent between four walls.
She finally included objects and furniture (mostly purchased on the internet), creating patches of pastel colors just like they were flowers sprouted in the warm season.
Perfectly in theme the  prints on the walls that represent butterflies, birds and flowers.
Is not  delicious  the micro working place overlooking the rooftops of Montmartre?

The details of all the furniture and a description of the house can be found on the blog of Anne (annouchka.fr) and hello-hello.fr

Thanks to Anne who kindly gave me the use of the pictures "stolen" from her  blog annouchka.fr.
